Essay Competition

Objective: As part of Mind Spark'25, the Essay Competition is designed to develop student's writing skills and critical thinking abilities. It encourages participants to explore ideas and express them effectively, while focusing on the four grand challenges of humanity — Food, Water, Healthcare, and Sustainable Energy — in alignment with the mission of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences.

Participation Guidelines:

  • This is an individual event.
  • Writing materials provided: 5 A4 sheets.
  • Duration: 1.5 hours.
  • Essays must address at least one of the focus areas: Food, Water, Healthcare, or Sustainable Energy.

Judging & Evaluation:

  • Judges will assess drawings based on:
    • Clarity & Coherence
    • Originality & Creativity
    • Theme Relevance
    • Language & Grammar
  • Judge's decisions will be final.

Outcome: Participants will enhance their ability to construct coherent arguments, think critically, and communicate effectively. The competition will foster literacy, creativity, and the skill of expressing viewpoints with clarity and impact.
