International conference on advances in materials and materials processing was conducted on22nd –3rd January 2015

National Conference on "Innovations in Mechanical Engineering"

The conference on “Innovations in Mechanical engineering” was conducted on 20.04.2017 with the following themes: Material Processing and Technology, Metal Cutting Technology, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Composite Materials and Tribology, Renewable Energy, Heat transfer, HVAC, Machine Design & Mechanisms, Solid state welding processes, Robotics and Automation, Bio Mechanics, Aero & Vehicle Dynamics, Vibration Engineering and CAD/CAM/CAE. The conference brought Experienced and Young researchers in a common platform to exchange the findings of their research.

National Conference on “Science and technology for persons with disabilities”

National Conference on “Science and technology for persons with disabilities”helod on 28/02/2017. The conference had built a group which has a prior experience in Assistive technology (AT) which comprises of AT professionals, academic scientists, researchers, manufacturers and vendors of AT. It also provided a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the fields of Assistive Technology Systems.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was all set to kick-start the 2016 edition of the annual National level technical fest, PITSTOP on the 1st & 2nd of September 2016. This much awaited event among students - not only of the host department but others as well - provided a platform for students to showcase their Engineering dexterity and claim accolades whilst competing against peers on a National level.

Pitstop had its bloom for 2014 on 10 th of sept. The theme for this year’s edition, keeping in line with the vision of Karunya’s Founders has been chosen as “Innovate for a better society”. The theme aims at promoting recognition of societal problems and providing revolutionary solutions that are both effective and economical.

On 4 th sept’13 Pitstop was conducted for this academic year. PITSTOP’ 13 had the theme “REACHING THE UNDER PRIVILEGED” and keeping in line with the theme 10% of funds collected for the event will be set aside for charity work for underprivileged students through KARUNYA OUTREACH.

We are happy to note that the students of the department of Mechanical Engineering had hosted the Technical Festival PITSTOP once again on August 10, 2012.
