An ATAL sponsored workshop - Robo Juniors in association with the ATAL Tinkering Lab of Evangeline Matric School have been organized on 13th March 2020, Friday in Department of Robotics Engineering. Mr. David Johnson, MD, Lockey Hypersolutions, Chennai was the Chief Guest.

A seminar on the topic "Industrial Smart Sensors and Instrumentation" was organized by the Department of Robotics Engineering on 28th February 2020. The Resource Person, Mrs. D. Linda Serin, Senior Engineer, Technip Energies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, gave an insight on the sensor, valves used in automation.
The one-day Workshop on System Modeling and Control
The one-day Workshop on System Modeling and Control was organized on 31st August 2018. The Resource Person, Dr. S. Dharmalingam, Visiting Professor, NIT, Trichy, gave an insight on Power Plant Instrumentation and the need for Modeling and Simulation. Mr. Bartlomeij demonstrated and explained the Embedded Based Robot that can be remotely controlled via wifi.
Lecture on the practical aspects of Power Plant Simulation and control
In the hands on session, Dr. P. Rajalakshmy , AP/IE gave a lecture on the practical aspects of Power Plant Simulation and control and a hands on training on the system identification tool lit in Matlab. Mr.L.D. VijayAnand demonstrated the concepts of system identification using LabVIEW and Mr. Varun explained and demonstrated the novel idea of embedded control of a Level process using STM Discovery Board. The workshop was attended by students and faculty from various institutions and belonging to various departments.
The seminar on Remote controlled Robot
The seminar on Remote controlled Robot was conducted on 24th August 2018, 11.00 a.m by Mr. Bartlomeij, Intern, GDANSK University, Poland was for the I B. Tech Robotics and Automation Students to enlighten them and motivate them to make a robot. The resource person, Mr. Bartlomeij demonstrated and explained the remotely controlled Embedded Based Robot developed by him during his internship period.
The seminar was greatly beneficial to the students and they gained confidence to design and implement robotic systems.
