Academics

PhD programme:

There are 15 Ph D scholars attached to the Institute, who have done their Masters in reputed organisations, IITs/NITs and universities abroad and are carrying out PhD works in the areas of hydrology, hydrogeology, mathematical modeling, water treatment, water resources engineering, coastal dynamics, climate change, aquatic ecosystems, isotope hydrology and sustainable water resources management.

IAESTE programme:

During the past six years 28 students from different countries like US, Germany, Spain, Austria, Poland, Japan, Gana, Brazil and Tunsia have taken up their internship under IAESTE scheme in the areas of watershed management, groundwater flow and contaminant transport, hydrological modeling, electrochemical techniques in water and wastewater treatment, water conservation, application of GIS and remote sensing in water resources management, groundwater recharge studies, nanoparticle transport studies in porous media, wetland management.

Transfer of technology and capacity building:

To enhance the knowledge in the field of water and to build capacity, nine national and international seminars, experience sharing workshops, conferences and training programmes were conducted. These programmes were funded by various government agencies. List of programmes are given below.
