Dr. R. Mohanapriya

Dr. R. Mohanapriya is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Sciences, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. She holds a Ph.D. in Agronomy from Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, completed in 2022, an M.Sc. in Agronomy from Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam, and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from PGP College of Agricultural Sciences, Namakkal. Her doctoral research focused on enhancing the productivity of green gram under sodic soil through soil amendments and foliar nutrition, while her postgraduate research examined chemical weed management practices under different irrigation regimes in transplanted rice.

Her areas of research interest include agronomy, organic farming, weed management, and irrigation management. Her research contributions encompass weed management and irrigation practices in transplanted rice, soil amendments and foliar nutrition for improving green gram productivity under sodic soil conditions, crop production, intercropping, and sustainable agricultural practices. She has published research articles in national and international journals on rice, green gram, finger millet, little millet, weed management, soil properties, crop productivity, organic cultivation, and related agronomic practices.

Dr. R. Mohanapriya has presented research findings at national and international conferences on climate-smart agriculture, agricultural scientific research, sustainable food and nutritional security, rice research, climate-resilient farming, and integrated water resource management. She has also participated in workshops and training programmes covering scientific writing, microbial studies, fertilizer orientation, agricultural research statistics, mushroom cultivation, and innovative teaching and learning pedagogy. Her academic contributions include publications in journals, conference proceedings, and magazines, as well as research work carried out in collaboration with researchers in agronomy and related agricultural sciences.

She has received the Best Oral Presentation Award under the theme “Multidimensional Approaches for Sustaining Food and Nutritional Security” and the Best Poster Presentation Award under the theme “Food Security to Nutritional Security: Youth Perspective.” She is a lifetime member of the Indian Academic Researchers Association, Bose Science Society, SADHNA – Society for Advancement of Human and Nature, and All India Agricultural Students Association. Her professional interests and research activities are directed towards agronomic practices, sustainable crop production, organic farming, weed management, and efficient irrigation management.
