Dr. E. Adlin Pricilla Vasanthi

Dr. E. Adlin Pricilla Vasanthi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Agricultural Entomology, School of Agriculture, at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, completed in 2017, with research focused on the screening and exploitation of plant products for the management of the subterranean termite Odontotermes wallonensis. She also holds an M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Entomology and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. She qualified the NET conducted by ICAR-ASRB in 2013.

Her research interests include botanical pesticides and plant-derived bioactive compounds for sustainable pest management, integrated pest management in agricultural and horticultural crops, development of biopesticide formulations, termite occurrence and damage assessment, and green hydrogen production using insect gut microbial consortia. Her academic and professional experience includes teaching positions at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology, and Sethu Bhaskara Agricultural College and Research Foundation.

Dr. Adlin Pricilla Vasanthi has published research on the biopesticidal and antitermitic properties of plant-derived compounds and essential oils against subterranean termites, particularly Odontotermes wallonensis and Odontotermes obesus. Her publications also address the insecticidal, oviposition-deterrent, antifeedant, repellent, and growth-regulatory effects of plant extracts against insect pests. Her recent collaborative research includes association analysis and principal component analysis of green gram genotypes and a review on plant disease forecasting. She has an h-index of 3.

She has received the National Best Scientist Award from the International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation Executive Council in 2021, the Excellence in Reviewing Award from the Asian Plant Research Journal in 2021, and the Best Oral Paper Presentation Award at the Second Agricultural Graduates Students Conference organized by the School of Post Graduate Studies, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, in 2014. She is a member of the Entomological Society of India and the Indian Academy of Biopesticides and has contributed as a reviewer and editorial board member for several agricultural and entomological journals.
