Dr. L.D. Vijay Anand is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Robotics Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, where he has been serving since May 2009. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, an M.E. in Control Systems, and a Ph.D. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. His areas of specialization include Industrial Automation, Process Automation Systems, and Mobile Robotics, while his research interests focus on Control Systems, Automation, and Intelligent Controllers. He has over 12 years and 3 months of teaching experience and has been actively involved in academic and research activities in robotics and automation.
Dr. Vijay Anand has contributed significantly to teaching, research, and postgraduate guidance. He has published 12 international journal papers and presented 11 papers at international conferences. He has successfully guided 3 Ph.D. scholars, including one full-time and two part-time candidates, and supervised 20 master's projects. He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in industrial automation, process control, mobile robotics, smart sensors, instrumentation, advanced control systems, and entrepreneurship for robotics and automation. He is also a member of The Robotics Society and has collaborated with institutions including PSG College of Technology, Manipal University, VIT, and Sathyabama University.
His research and academic contributions are centered on industrial automation, intelligent control systems, robotics, process modelling, biomedical applications, IoT-based sensing, renewable energy systems, and smart manufacturing. Through his research supervision and scholarly activities, he has contributed to the development of innovative solutions in automation, control engineering, healthcare technologies, and precision farming.
His research primarily focuses on control systems, industrial automation, process automation, intelligent controllers, mobile robotics, smart sensors, IoT applications, biomedical instrumentation, and precision agriculture. In addition to his journal and conference publications, he is associated with the Smart Technology for Precision Farming research group, reflecting his continued commitment to advancing research and innovation in Robotics Engineering and intelligent automation.
