Dr. V. Jegathesan

Dr. V. Jegathesan is an Associate Professor in the Division of Robotics Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. He joined the institution in August 1999 and has over 22 years of teaching experience and 16 years of research experience. He holds a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, an M.E. in Applied Electronics, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His areas of specialization include Industrial Automation and Power Electronics Controllers, while his research interests focus on Industrial Automation, Machine Learning Techniques, Control Systems, and Power Electronics Controllers.

Dr. Jegathesan has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic guidance. He has published 36 international and 1 national journal paper, presented 28 international and 5 national conference papers, and actively participated in conferences, workshops, and faculty development programmes. He has successfully guided 11 Ph.D. scholars and 17 master's projects. He is a life member of ISTE, IAENG, and IACSIT and has also served as Chief Consultant for an industrial consultancy project involving the design and fabrication of an electrical and instrumentation panel for a flaxseed oil extruder.

He has received several recognitions for excellence in teaching and research, including the Best Faculty Award, Best Researcher Award, Best SIEMENS Authorized Training Centre Award, P.K. Das Best Faculty Award, and Best Research Paper Award. His professional interactions with Siemens Ltd. and sustained contributions to industrial automation, power electronics, and engineering education reflect his strong academic and industry engagement.

His research primarily focuses on industrial automation, power electronics, multilevel inverters, renewable energy integration, wireless mesh networks, machine learning, and control systems. In addition to his extensive journal and conference publications, he has authored several Scopus-indexed book chapters covering power electronics, inverter technologies, wireless communication, and optimization techniques, demonstrating his sustained contribution to research and knowledge dissemination in Robotics Engineering and allied disciplines.
