Dr. Bini D serves as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Robotics Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, having joined the institution on 26 August 2021. She holds a Ph.D. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, an M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Her areas of specialization include Computer Vision, Image and Video Processing, and Real-Time Embedded Systems, while her research focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Deep Learning Algorithms. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, image processing, machine vision, instrumentation, and embedded systems.
Dr. Bini D has over four years of teaching experience and three years of research experience, supported by prior professional experience as a Project Assistant at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research and as a Technical Research Associate at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She is currently guiding three Ph.D. scholars and has supervised four master's projects. She is an IAENG professional member and has actively contributed as a resource person and guest lecturer in workshops and technical events on deep learning, artificial intelligence, and image processing. She has also participated in several faculty development programmes and AICTE-sponsored workshops to enhance her academic and research expertise.
Her research contributions include 15 international and 2 national journal publications, along with presentations at 8 international and 2 national conferences. Her publications primarily focus on computer vision, deep learning, artificial intelligence, smart agriculture, medical image analysis, robotics, embedded systems, and intelligent automation. She has also authored book chapters in the areas of artificial intelligence and medical image analysis, demonstrating her contributions to emerging technologies in robotics and intelligent systems.
Dr. Bini D's research emphasizes the application of artificial intelligence and deep learning in agriculture, healthcare, robotics, and automation. Her work includes machine vision-based crop monitoring, emotion recognition, autonomous robotic systems, medical image analysis, rehabilitation technologies, and embedded AI applications. Through her teaching, research supervision, scholarly publications, and technical engagements, she continues to contribute to the advancement of robotics engineering and intelligent automation technologies.
