Dr. X. Anitha Mary

Dr. X. Anitha Mary is an Associate Professor in the Division of Robotics Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, where she has been serving since June 2009. She holds a B.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, an M.E. in VLSI Design, and a Ph.D. in Instrumentation Engineering. With over 15 years and 6 months of teaching experience and 7 years of research experience, her area of specialization is Electronics and Instrumentation, while her research interests include Embedded Systems, Control and Instrumentation, and Artificial Intelligence. She has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to embedded systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, microcontrollers, industrial automation, and real-time operating systems.

Dr. Anitha Mary has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic mentoring. She has published 25 international and 3 national journal papers and presented 13 international and 1 national conference papers. She has actively participated in conferences, workshops, and faculty development programmes and is currently guiding six Ph.D. scholars along with fifteen master's projects. She serves as a reviewer for international journals and is a member of professional organizations including the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT). She has also undertaken consultancy assignments in embedded system design, PCB design, and industrial training for various engineering institutions.

Dr. Anitha Mary has received several prestigious recognitions, including the Outstanding Women Achiever Award, Innovative Professional Award, and Best Researcher Award for her contributions to engineering research and innovation. She has successfully secured and executed funded research projects from organizations such as DRDO, Harvard University, Boston Children's Hospital, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. Her funded research focuses on healthcare monitoring systems, embedded electronics, automation, physiological monitoring, groundwater monitoring, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Her research focuses on embedded systems, artificial intelligence, biomedical instrumentation, industrial automation, control systems, VLSI design, and Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare applications. In addition to her journal and conference publications, she has published a patent related to automated hum detection for AC contactors and has authored several book chapters covering embedded systems, biomedical sensors, IoT, healthcare technologies, industrial process control, and signal processing. Her sustained contributions to research, innovation, consultancy, and postgraduate guidance reflect her strong academic expertise in Robotics Engineering and Embedded Systems.
