Dr. Sabitha Jannet is an Assistant Professor, Division of Mechanical Engineering, with research interests in Friction Stir Welding/Processing, Metallurgy and Nano Surface Composites. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University (2016), an M.E. in CAD/CAM from Karunya University (2007), and a B.E. in Industrial and Production Engineering from Mysore University (1998).
She has been serving as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at KITS since 2008 and previously worked as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at KITS from 2007–2008. Her teaching interests include Material Science, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), Computer Aided Design, Non-Destructive Testing and Composite Materials.
Dr. Sabitha Jannet has contributed 31 international journal publications and 7 international publications, with 89 Scopus citations, 95 Google Scholar citations and an h-index of 5. She has completed supervision of 8 Master's theses and is currently guiding 3 Ph.D. scholars.
Her research contributions include the submitted patent "Backing plate for FSP with improved cooling". She has also contributed to a DST–Technology Mission Division funded project on high-performance integrated two-stage electrochemical technology for recovery of water from electroplating effluent with real-time monitoring and control, carried out during 2020–2023.
