Dr. Arul Kirubakaran D

Dr. ARUL KIRUBAKARN D is an Assistant Professor (SG) in the Division of Mechanical Engineering, with research interests in hard material machining, composites and machining, shape memory alloy fabrication and machining, numerical simulation of machining processes, and magnesium machining. He holds a Ph.D. in Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy (2017), an M.E. in Product Design and Commerce from Anna University Coimbatore (2010), and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai (2008).

His research contributions include 15 international journal publications and 55 international/national conference publications, with 575 Scopus citations, 720 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 13. His research work covers advanced machining, composites, shape memory alloys, and manufacturing process simulation.

Dr. Arul Kirubakarn has three published patents related to Smilax Zeylanica Linn fiber extraction, ceramic washer production using rotational ultrasonic machining, and a smart helmet with inbuilt wireless communication. He has also guided 2 Master's theses and is currently guiding 1 Ph.D. scholar.

He has served as Assistant Professor (SG) at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences since August 2021, following academic positions at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Adhi College of Engineering and Technology, National Institute of Technology Calicut, National Institute of Technology Trichy, and JJ College of Engineering and Technology. His teaching interests include Design of Machine Elements, Design of Transmission System, Finite Element Analysis, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, and Finite Element Analysis in Manufacturing.
