Dr. S. Merlin Gilbert Raj

Dr. S. Merlin Gilbert Raj is an Assistant Professor-II in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, an M.E. in Communication Systems, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. His academic and research work focuses on antenna technologies and advanced wireless communication systems.

His research interests include reconfigurable antennas, RIS-assisted communication, millimetre-wave communication, hybrid beamforming, channel estimation, and convex and concave optimisation. His work addresses the development and optimisation of advanced wireless communication systems and intelligent antenna technologies.

Dr. Merlin Gilbert Raj has contributed 10 journal publications, 12 international conference publications, and two national publications. He has contributed to a patent on an Electronic Sound Synthesizer-Based Wild Animal Deterrent System. He has also been involved in an AICTE-MODROB project for modernisation of an RF laboratory with MIMO SDR, with a sanctioned amount of ₹39.4 lakh.

He has one ongoing Ph.D. scholar and has guided six completed M.E. projects. He is a member of IEEE ComSoc and has received recognitions including the Summer Industry Experience Fellowship, NPTEL Elite recognition, the National Young Leaders Programme Award, and technical committee involvement related to TTDF and Bharat 6G.
