Dr. M.A.P. Manimekalai

Dr. M.A.P. Manimekalai is an Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering, an M.E. in Applied Electronics, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Her academic and research work focuses on image processing, computer vision, optimisation, and IoT-enabled healthcare applications.

Her research interests include image and video compression, medical image analysis, digital image processing, computer vision, IoT healthcare, and optimisation. Her work applies computational techniques to image-based and healthcare-related problems, with emphasis on efficient processing and intelligent systems.

Dr. Manimekalai has contributed 16 Scopus-indexed journal publications, 15 Scopus-indexed conference publications, and two national publications. She has been involved in the DST-IPTIF project on LoRa-Drone Surveillance for Man-Animal Conflict, with a sanctioned amount of ₹9.55 lakh. She has three ongoing Ph.D. scholars and has guided 10 completed M.E. projects and 25 completed and two ongoing B.E. projects.

Her achievements include the Best Research Paper Award at ICEECCOT 2017 and the Achiever Award 2025. Her profile reflects sustained academic engagement in image processing, computer vision, healthcare IoT, optimisation, research projects, student guidance, and technology-oriented research.
