Dr. F. T. Josh

Dr. F. T. Josh is an Assistant Professor, Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, with 21 years of professional experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, an M.E. in Power Electronics and Drives from Bharathidasan University, and a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has served Karunya in the positions of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Assistant Professor with AGP 8000, and has been serving as Assistant Professor (AGP 8000) since November 2011.

His research areas include Electric Vehicle Design and Analysis, Wireless Power Transfer for Electric Vehicles, Multilevel Inverters, Battery Energy Management Techniques, Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energy, IoT for Food and Agriculture Applications, and Modern Electric Drives for Electric Vehicles. His teaching areas include Electric Vehicle Design, IoT for Food Industries, Switched Mode Power Supplies, Python for Electrical Engineering, Special Electrical Machines, Computer Simulation of Electrical Systems, Power Electronic Circuits, and Basic Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is also associated with the Electric Vehicle Research Group and has served as a mentor and member of Divisional committees.

His academic publication record includes 19 international journal publications, 28 international conference publications, and 6 national conference publications. He has participated and presented papers in 15 international and national conferences and has participated in 36 FDPs, workshops, STTPs, seminars, and guest lectures. He has organized 12 FDPs, workshops, seminars, and guest lectures, guided 6 Ph.D. scholars, 29 M.E./M.Tech. projects, and 12 foreign interns. He has also published books or chapters and received a short-term grant.

Dr. Josh has received the Best Research Paper Award for 2012 from the EEE Division at Karunya University. He also received appreciation from Texas Instruments in December 2018 for fostering Government–Industry–Academia collaboration through his guidance of the Solar Powered Umbrella project under the DST & Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2018. His industry collaborations and interactions include Radiforz Automation Pvt. Ltd., Ampere Electric Ltd., and Salzer Electronics Ltd. He is a Life Member of ISTE, a member of IAENG, and has held IEEE membership during the specified years.
