Our Faculty Members
Dr. J. Jayakumar, M.E., Ph.D.
Dr. J. Jayakumar is a Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with 21 years of academic experience and a Ph.D. in Power System Optimization. His research interests include smart grid, power system, distributed generation, economic dispatch, optimization techniques, renewable energy, electric vehicles, cyber security, and reactive power management. He has published 70 international journal papers and 30 conference papers, guided 10 Ph.D. scholars, and received research funding from UGC, ICMR, IEEE, and TNSCST.
Dr. A. Immanuel Selvakumar is a Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with 20 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience. His research interests include smart grids, electric and hybrid vehicles, soft computing techniques, renewable energy, data mining, machine learning, and deep learning. He has 66 Scopus and 45 Web of Science publications, and has contributed as a reviewer for IEEE, IET, and Elsevier journals. He has received ₹27.46 lakh in funding from the Central Power Research Institute, Ministry of Power, Government of India, and has been recognized with awards including the Best Researcher Award, NPTEL Super Star Award, and placement among the world's top 2% scientists according to a Stanford University study.
Dr. A. Albert Rajan is an Associate Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and also serves as Deputy Registrar (Student Affairs). His research interests include special electrical drives, reconfigurable controllers, energy-efficient electrical systems, and artificial intelligence techniques for ADHD analysis. He has over two decades of teaching and research experience, with 17 works recorded in his ORCID profile and research contributions spanning electrical drives, AI-based ADHD analysis, heat pipes, and intelligent controllers.
Dr. F.T. Josh is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with 21 years of teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His research interests include electric vehicle design and analysis, wireless power transfer for EVs, multilevel inverters, battery energy management, AI for renewable energy, IoT for food and agriculture applications, and modern electric drives. He has published 19 international journal papers, 28 international conference papers, and 6 national conference papers, and has guided 6 Ph.D. scholars and 29 M.E./M.Tech. projects. He has received the Best Research Paper Award and recognition from Texas Instruments for fostering Government–Industry–Academia collaboration.
Dr. C. Benin Pratap is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with extensive academic experience and a Ph.D. in Photovoltaic Systems. His research interests include power electronic converter applications for solar PV systems, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. He has published several international journal and conference papers, including Scopus-indexed publications, and has delivered invited lectures and served as a resource person in FDPs, workshops, seminars, and training programmes. He is also a Life Member of the International Association of Engineers.
Mr. L.B. Shalom Irence is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with academic experience in Photovoltaic Systems. His research interests include power electronic converter applications for solar PV systems, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. He has published international journal and conference papers, including Scopus-indexed publications, and has delivered invited lectures and served as a resource person in FDPs, workshops, seminars, and training programmes. He is also a Life Member of the International Association of Engineers.
