Dr. M. Roshni Thanka is an Associate Professor in the Division of Data Science and Cyber Security with a Ph.D. from Anna University, an M.E. from Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman College of Engineering, and a B.E. from Noorul Islam College of Engineering. She teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Machine Learning, Data Science, Python Programming, Algorithms, Web Technologies, Compiler Design, Cryptography, and Network Security.
Her research focuses on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computing. She has published numerous research papers in reputed international journals and IEEE conferences covering areas such as healthcare analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, image classification, smart agriculture, IoT applications, and deep learning. She has also contributed book chapters on machine learning, cybersecurity, and intelligent transportation systems.
Dr. Roshni Thanka is actively involved in funded research and innovation activities. She serves as a co-investigator in a DST-supported project on wearable healthcare devices for epilepsy prediction and holds patents related to IoT-based food recommendation and women safety systems. She has delivered several invited lectures, guest talks, and AICTE-sponsored training programmes on machine learning, deep learning, IoT, and data analytics at various academic institutions.
She has earned professional certifications from Oracle and Google Cloud, demonstrating expertise in programming and cloud technologies. Her academic contributions include mentoring award-winning student teams, publishing high-impact research, participating in interdisciplinary projects, and promoting innovation in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and healthcare applications through teaching, research, and industry collaboration.
