Dr. E. Grace Mary Kanaga

Dr. E. Grace Mary Kanaga serves as Professor and Head of the Division of Data Science and Cyber Security. She is a distinguished academician, researcher, and educator with extensive experience in Computer Science and Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. from Anna University of Technology, an M.Tech. from Vellore Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Adhiyamaan College of Engineering. Throughout her academic career, she has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership, making significant contributions to higher education and computing technologies.

Her teaching expertise encompasses a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cognitive Computing, Big Data Analytics, Distributed Computing, Database Management Systems, Java Programming, and Mobile Computing. Her primary research interests include Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), Computational Intelligence, Data Science, Optimization Techniques, and Big Data Analytics. She has also successfully led government-funded research projects supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), focusing on intelligent healthcare systems and assistive technologies.

Dr. Kanaga has established an outstanding research profile through numerous SCI and Scopus-indexed journal publications, book chapters, and conference papers in the fields of artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, cloud computing, healthcare analytics, and intelligent systems. She has successfully guided four Ph.D. scholars, is currently supervising six doctoral researchers, and has mentored more than fifty undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, fostering innovation and research excellence among future engineers and scholars.

In addition to her teaching and research accomplishments, Dr. Kanaga actively contributes to the global academic community through professional memberships, editorial responsibilities, journal reviewing, keynote addresses, invited talks, and conference session chair roles. She has received several prestigious awards recognizing her excellence in teaching, innovation, and community service, while also serving on academic councils and governing bodies of various institutions. Her long-standing commitment as an NSS Programme Officer further reflects her dedication to leadership, social responsibility, and holistic student development, making her an accomplished academic leader and researcher.
