Dr. P. G. Sunanda Bhagavathy holds a Ph.D. in Criminology and Police Science, an M.A. in Criminology and Police Science from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, a P.G. Her research focuses on victimisation, access to justice, gender-based crime, cyber-victimisation, non-reporting of crime, and victim-oriented criminal justice practices. She has also contributed to academic and professional training in areas related to policing and criminal justice.
Dr. P. G. Sunanda Bhagavathy has over 35 years of professional experience in the Tamil Nadu Police Force and retired as Additional Superintendent of Police, Q Branch CID. Her professional experience includes investigation, intelligence, All-Women Police Stations, security, anti-dowry operations, and police training. She is a recipient of the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service and the Chief Minister’s Anna Medal for distinguished service, reflecting her contribution to police service and professional training.
