Mr. D. Shibin

Mr. Shibin David is an Assistant Professor in the field of Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. He joined the institution on 21/08/2013. He holds an M.Tech. in Network and Internet Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (2013), an MBA in General Management (Human Resource) from Alagappa University (2017), and a B.Tech. in Information Technology from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (2011).

His research interests include Cryptography and Network Security, Mobile Security, Society 5.0, Blockchain, and Security in Marketing 6.0. He has contributed 27 international journal publications and 9 international/national conference publications, with 89 Scopus citations, 216 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 8. His research contributions also include the granted Indian patent “System and Method for Automatic Model Transformation using Behavior Extraction,” filed under Application No. 202241022561 A in 2022.

His research projects include the “K-Energy Conservation System using Android Application,” funded by TNSCST in 2015 with an amount of Rs. 8,000, and “Augmenting Privacy for Secured Data Offloading and Storage in Mobile Cloud Computing,” supported through the Karunya Seed Money Project in 2016 with an amount of Rs. 25,000. He has also authored the textbook “Security Issues, Privacy Concerns in Industry 4.0 Applications,” published by Wiley-Scrivener in 2021.

His teaching interests include Cryptography and Network Security, Wireless and VOIP Security, Operating Systems, Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering, Java Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, and Programming for Problem Solving. He has served as a reviewer for journals including Sustainable Cities and Society, Indian Journal of Science and Technology, Security and Privacy, Journal of Computer Security, and Journal of Computer Science. His professional certifications include Oracle Certified Associate, SUSE Certified Associate, Cisco Cyber Security Essentials, Python Programming through INFYTQ, Cisco Introduction to Cyber Security, and EC-Council Network Defense Essentials.
