Dr. S.V. Evangelin Sonia

Dr. Evangelin Sonia S V is an Assistant Professor (Regular) at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University. She joined Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in June 2022 and has prior academic experience as an Assistant Professor.

Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Optimization. She has contributed 9 international journal publications and 13 international/national conference publications, with 59 Scopus citations, 87 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 4. Her research project, Wearable Motion Capture – FocusRec RNN for 3D Human Pose Reconstruction and Prediction, was supported by KITS in 2024.

Dr. Evangelin Sonia S V has authored four textbooks published in 2023: Machine Learning, Data Science, and Data Science and Analytics by Jec Publication, and Data Mining and Data Warehousing by Charulatha Publication. Her teaching interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Operating Systems, Optimization Methodologies, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Analytics.

Her academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Shakthi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, from 2016 to 2022, and at Vins Christian College of Engineering, Nagercoil, from 2011 to 2015. Her academic and research profile reflects expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, optimization, and related areas of computer science and engineering.
