Dr. R. Selvamani

Dr. Selvamani R is an Associate Professor (Regular) at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, with academic experience in the Division of Mathematics and the Computer Science and Engineering Division. He holds a Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Bharathiar University, an M.Phil. in Fluid Dynamics from Bharathidasan University, and an M.Sc. in Fuzzy Mathematics from MS University.

His research interests include Mathematical Modeling, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, and Nano Mechanics. His teaching interests encompass Foundation Mathematics, Mathematical Transforms, Numerical Methods, Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Random Processes, Fluid Dynamics, Computational Mathematics, Optimization Techniques, Mathematical and Statistical Methods, and Mathematics for Food Engineers.

Dr. Selvamani R has contributed 105 international journal publications and 10 international/national conference publications, with 600 Scopus citations, 671 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 14. He has authored books including Mechanics of Smart Magneto-electro-elastic Nanostructures (Elsevier Sciences, 2021), Basic Engineering Mathematics (CH.S.I Publication, 2012), and Basic Theory of Equation (Lambert Publication, 2012).

He has supervised 7 completed and 4 ongoing Ph.D. theses, along with 10 completed Master of Engineering theses. He served as Editor of the Journal of Vehicle Dynamics from 2020–2021 and the Journal of Statistics and Mathematics from 2017–2020. His professional development includes training in Dynamics of EV Vehicle at Eroyce Motors, Coimbatore, in 2024, and Mathematics for Machine Learning at Imperial College, London, in 2013. His academic experience includes teaching and academic roles at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences from 2004 onwards.
