Dr. R. Priscilla Joy

Dr. R. Priscilla Joy is an Assistant Professor (Regular) in Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Noorul Islam University, an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya University, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University. She joined Karunya in 2021 and has academic experience at KGiSL Institute of Technology and SNS College of Engineering.

Her research interests include Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. She has contributed 10 international journal publications and 25 international/national conference publications, with 15 Scopus citations, 38 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 4. She also worked on the IoT-Enabled Automated Data Acquisition System for Sustainable Water Management in KITS, supported by the KITS SEED Money Grant during 2023–2024.

Dr. Priscilla Joy has authored four textbooks published by Charulatha Publications in 2023: Artificial Intelligence, Introduction to Data Science, Human Computer Interaction, and Data Mining and Data Warehousing. She has also served as a reviewer for Advancement of IoT in Blockchain Technology and its Applications since 2022.

Her teaching interests include Theory of Computation, Object-Oriented System Design, Principles of Compiler Design, Database Management Systems, Advanced Computer Architecture, Problem Solving and Python Programming, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things, and Optimization Methodologies. Her academic profile reflects expertise across computer science, IoT, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related areas.
