Dr. J. Immanuel Johnraja

Dr. J. Immanuel Johnraja is a Professor and Deputy Director (Training & Placement) at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, with extensive academic experience in Computer Science and Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from M.S. University. He joined Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences on 8 June 2005 and has served the institution in various academic and administrative capacities, including Lecturer, Assistant Professor & Program Coordinator, Assistant Professor & Head (I/C), Associate Professor & Head, and Professor & Head of the Division of Computer Science and Engineering.

His area of interest includes the Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, and Cyber Security. His academic and research interests focus on emerging computing technologies and their applications in connected, distributed, and secure computing environments. Through his teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has contributed to the advancement of Computer Science and Engineering while engaging with contemporary areas of information and communication technologies.

Dr. J. Immanuel Johnraja has published 21 international journal papers and 27 international and national conference papers. His research publications have received 153 Scopus citations and 335 Google Scholar citations, with an h-index of 8. He has also been granted an Indian patent for a “Tool for Optimality in Automatic Washer Punching” under Indian Patent Application No. 202241009223, filed in February 2022. His research guidance includes one completed and seven ongoing Ph.D. theses, along with 22 completed and one ongoing Master’s thesis. He has further strengthened his professional expertise through certifications including Cisco Certified Network Associate in 2008, Cisco Certified Network Professional in 2013, and Cisco DevNet Associate in 2021.

With more than two decades of academic experience at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Dr. J. Immanuel Johnraja has undertaken significant responsibilities in teaching, research, academic coordination, and institutional leadership.
