Dr. Esther Daniel

Dr. Esther Daniel is an Associate Professor (Regular) in Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology from Anna University and an M.E. in Network & Internet Engineering from Karunya University, along with a B.E. in Information Technology from Bharathiar University. Her research interests include Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks, and Artificial Intelligence.

She has been associated with Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences since 2008, serving as an Assistant Professor and subsequently as an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to this, she served as a Lecturer in Information Technology at Sri Krishna Institute of Technology & Sciences. Her teaching interests include Data Science, Cryptography and Network Security, Cyber Forensics, IoT Security, Cloud Computing and IoT, Ethical Hacking, Network and System Security, and Programming for Problem Solving.

Her research contributions include 14 international journal publications and 22 international/national conference publications. She has received 213 Scopus citations and 308 Google Scholar citations, with an h-index of 7. She has guided 20 Master of Engineering theses to completion and is currently guiding 1 M.E. thesis and 5 Ph.D. scholars. Her research interests encompass cybersecurity, cloud computing, computer networks, and artificial intelligence.

She is the inventor of the granted Indian patent Tool for Optimality in Automatic Washer Punching, Indian Patent Application No. 202241009223 (2022). She has also completed professional certifications including Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation and Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure from Google, as well as IBM Cloud Computing Practitioner – Instructor and Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner certifications from IBM.
