Dr. C.P. Shirley

Dr. C. P. Shirley is an Associate Professor (Regular) in Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, where she joined in May 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Manonmanium Sundaranar University.

Her research interests include Image Processing, Video Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Her teaching interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Computer Organization and Architecture, and Mobile Application Development using Android.

Dr. Shirley has contributed 10 international journal publications and 5 international/national conference publications, with 8 Scopus citations, 14 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 2. She has also contributed to five textbooks published in 2023, covering educational transformation, Data Mining and Data Warehousing, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Principles of Modern Communication Systems.

She is currently guiding 2 Ph.D. scholars and 1 Master of Engineering scholar. Her academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences from 2022 onwards, at C. S. I. Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2022, and as a Lecturer at N.M.S. Kamaraj Polytechnic College from 2002 to 2009.
