Dr. Sneha Gautam is a Professor (Research) with expertise in Environmental Engineering and Air Pollution Research. She holds a Ph.D. in Air Pollution Measurement and Modelling from IIT Kharagpur, an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, and a PDF in Air Pollution Research from NCTU, Taiwan. Her teaching areas include Air and Noise Pollution Control, Environmental Engineering, Global Climate Change, Disaster Management, Atmospheric Environmental Pollution Control, Solid Waste Management, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
Her research focuses on air pollution measurement and modelling, personal exposure, bioaerosols, urban and rural air quality, and aerosols. She has academic and research experience at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Marwadi University, National Chiao Tung University, University of California Berkeley, and IIT Kharagpur. Her research activities include work on the relationship between lightning, aerosol concentration, and meteorological parameters, while her research guidance includes Ph.D. and M.Tech. scholars.
Dr. Gautam has contributed extensively to scholarly research, with 66 international/national journal publications and 5 conference publications, along with 929 Scopus citations, 1,332 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 22. Her research publications cover air quality, aerosols, bioaerosols, particulate matter, climate change, environmental impacts of COVID-19, exposure and health, and atmospheric pollution. She is also an inventor of the granted Indian patent "Water Purifier Using Natural Strata" (Patent No. 202041021147).
She is professionally associated with organizations including the International Association of Engineers, Institution of Engineers India, Hong Kong Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society, Science and Engineering Institute, Indian Association for Air Pollution Control, and The Aerosol Society. Her recent research contributions include studies on atmospheric air pollutants, aerosol dynamics, air quality during COVID-19 lockdowns, personal exposure, black carbon, bioaerosols, and environmental health impacts.
