Dr. E. ArunRaj is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Civil Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, an M.Tech. in Structural Engineering from the same institution, and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Anna University, Tirunelveli. He has been associated with Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences since July 2014.
His research interests include resilient structural design for seismic response reduction, vulnerability studies for risk reduction of structures, retrofit of concrete beam-column joints, low-cost cooling roof tiles, and phase-changing materials. His teaching areas include Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Computer Aided Drawing, Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Estimation, and Foundation Engineering.
Dr. ArunRaj has contributed to research through 18 international/national journal publications and 6 international/national conference publications, with research guidance for 8 completed M.Tech. projects. His recent publications address strengthening of RC beam-column joints, optimized structural lattice structures, masonry-infilled RC frames, phase-changing cooling roof tiles, and cooling roof tile materials. He has also contributed a patent titled "GI nettings for partial restrained RCC beam column joint."
He is a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and a Life Member of the Institute of Research Engineers and Doctors (IRED). His academic work reflects a strong focus on structural resilience, seismic risk reduction, innovative retrofit techniques, and sustainable materials and technologies for improved structural performance.
