Dr. P. Subha Hency Jose

Dr. P. Subha Hency Jose is an Associate Professor, Division of Biomedical Engineering, at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, with 19 years of experience. Her research interests include Biomedical Instrumentation and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. She has research profiles in Google Scholar and Scopus.

She completed her Ph.D. in Process Control from Karunya University in May 2017 through part-time mode, her M.E. in Process Control & Instrumentation from Annamalai University in February 2003 with First Class with Distinction, and her B.E. in Biomedical Instrumentation from Avinashilingam University in May 2000 with First Class with Distinction. Her teaching interests include Medical Instrumentation Design and Biomedical Sensors.

Her patented work includes "Novel Volume Measurement System for an Irregular Shaped Tank" (Indian Patent No. 201941048984), "Loop structure based flexible antenna for Medical monitoring Applications" (Indian Patent No. 202141025459), and "A non-voice based communication system and method for aiding the paralyzed and speech impaired people" (Indian Patent No. 202041023121). Her research projects include a fetal ECG monitoring device for rural areas, a health monitoring system for pregnant women in rural areas, a device for cleaning cloth sanitary pads integrated with a blood loss measurement unit, a navigational aid for visually impaired people with an emergency trigger, an antisnore assistive device, and a non-invasive blood pressure monitoring system using an optical sensor array.

During 2009–2021, she published 43 international journal papers, 38 international conference papers, and 18 national conference papers, with a cumulative impact factor of 28, 3 Scopus citations, and an h-index of 3. Her research guidance includes 6 completed Ph.D. thesis advisings and 35 completed and 1 ongoing Master's thesis advising.
