Dr. J. Samson Isaac, M.Tech., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor, Division of Biomedical Engineering, at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, with 17 years of experience. His teaching interests include Ergonomics in Hospital, Medical Sensors and MEMS, Medical Robotics, and Sensory & Motor Rehabilitation.
His research projects include the design of vacuum therapy for diabetic wounds, funded by Boston Children Hospital with Rs. 69,000 during 2017–2019, and the design of an exoskeleton for rehabilitation of the upper limb, funded through Karunya Seed Money with Rs. 12,000 during 2014–2015.
During 2011–2021, he published 17 international journal papers, 16 international conference papers, and 6 national conference papers, with 43 Scopus citations, 53 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 4. His research guidance includes 2 ongoing Ph.D. thesis advisings and 16 completed and 1 ongoing Master's thesis advising.
