Mrs. S. Sophia

Mrs. S. Sophia is an Assistant Professor at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, awarded in 2022, a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering completed during 2015–2017, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering completed during 2011–2015. Her research interests include Security in Drones and Cloud Computing.

Her teaching interests include Object-Oriented Programming using Java, Agentic AI, C Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, C++, Android Programming, Internet Programming, Database Management Systems, User Experience Design, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. She has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences since January 2024 and previously served in the Division of Computer Science and Engineering from August 2022 to December 2023.

Her research contributions include 2 book chapters and 36 international conference publications, with 35 Scopus citations, 45 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 3. Her intellectual property contributions include patent applications related to Sensor Based UAV Mapping for Precision Agriculture and an IoT Hardware Platform for Crypto Algorithm Analysis.

Mrs. Sophia’s academic and research interests integrate drone security, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, programming, and emerging computing technologies. Her teaching experience and research contributions support her role in teaching, research, and academic activities in the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences.
