Dr. J. Sebastian Terence

Dr. J. Sebastian Terence is an Associate Professor and Project Manager (Eduserve) in the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, with 15 years and 3 months of teaching experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Internet of Things and Wireless Sensor Networks from VIT, Vellore, completed in 2021, a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, completed in 2010, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Maharaja Engineering College, affiliated to Anna University, completed in 2008.

His research interests include Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence. His teaching interests span Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Data Structures and Algorithms, Programming Languages including C, C++, Java, and Python, and Web Technology.

Dr. J. Sebastian Terence has published 10 international journal publications and 28 international and national conference publications, with 208 Scopus citations, 311 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 7. His patent contributions include an Edge Computing-based Wild Animal Intrusion Detection and Chasing System using Internet of Things Technologies and an IoT Enabled Pills Dispenser. He has guided eight Master of Engineering scholars and 23 Bachelor of Engineering scholars to completion and is currently guiding six Ph.D. scholars and six Bachelor of Engineering scholars.
