Prof. N. Subramanian

Prof. N. Subramanian is a Professor of Practice in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, serving as an industry–academia bridge with over 20 years of industry and technology delivery experience. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Karunya University. He completed his Post Graduate Certificate Program in Management (PGCPM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, in 2010, his Master of Computer Applications from Indira Gandhi National Open University in 2004, and his Bachelor of Science from Bharathidasan University in 1999.

His expertise includes Strategic Technology Delivery, Program Management, Cloud and DevOps Migrations, Enterprise AI and GenAI Transformation, Data Analytics, Governance, Risk and Compliance, and Technology Service Management across Banking, Insurance, Life Sciences, and IT Services. His professional expertise further encompasses AWS and Google Cloud, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift, AI/ML and GenAI, MLOps, Business Intelligence and analytics platforms, internal audits, GRC, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 ITSM, data privacy, risk assessment, controls evaluation, and AI/ML integration for legacy transformation. His professional certifications include Google Gen AI Leader, ISACA CISA, ISACA CRISC, AWS Cloud Practitioner, SAFe 4 DevOps Practitioner, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISO 20000 ITSM Foundation, CCNA, and RHCT.

He has led multi-vendor and multi-geography teams, technology contract governance, stakeholder management, platform stabilization, Lean IT Service Desk optimization, talent development, and business continuity initiatives. Before joining Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in December 2025, he held various technology delivery, cloud migration, enterprise AI, Business Intelligence, GRC, audit, and program management roles at Tata Consultancy Services from October 2010 to September 2025. His earlier professional experience includes Sify Technologies, Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Wipro Infotech. He has worked across the UK, US, EU, Mexico, and India, with experience in cross-cultural leadership and stakeholder management, and holds intermediate Spanish language proficiency at A2 level.

Bringing over two decades of industry and technology delivery experience into the classroom, Prof. N. Subramanian strengthens the industry–academia connect of the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. His combined expertise in enterprise AI, cloud, GenAI transformation, and governance, risk, and compliance reflects a strong practitioner profile that complements the Division’s academic and research activities.
