Dr. S. Christina Magneta

Dr. S. Christina Magneta is an Assistant Professor at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from Anna University, completed in 2023, an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology, completed in 2010, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya University, completed in 2008. Her research interests include Medical Image Processing and Machine Learning.

Her teaching interests include Database Management Systems, Object-Oriented Programming, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Theory of Computation, and Web Development. She has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences since June 2024. Her previous academic experience includes positions at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Christian College of Engineering, Alpha College of Engineering, and P.A. College of Engineering and Technology.

Her research contributions include 4 international journal publications and 14 international conference publications, with 12 Scopus citations, 16 Google Scholar citations, and an h-index of 2. Her intellectual property contributions include published patent applications related to smart home automation using LiFi and COVID-19 prediction using lung segmentation and image feature acquisition based on HAN from chest X-ray images.

Dr. S. Christina Magneta’s academic and research work focuses on machine learning, medical image processing, healthcare applications, and computer science. Her teaching experience and expertise in core computer science subjects support her contributions to teaching, research, and academic activities in the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences.
