Dr. R. Gayathri

Mrs. R. Gayathri is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Aerospace Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, having joined the institution on 11 July 2013. She holds a B.E. and M.E. in Aeronautical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at Karunya University.

Mrs. Gayathri has 10 years of teaching experience and specializes in Aircraft Design, Vibration Analysis, and Structural Health Monitoring. Her research focuses on aircraft structures, vibration-induced damage assessment, and structural health monitoring techniques. She teaches core undergraduate courses including Strength of Materials, Gas Dynamics, and Fluid Mechanics.

Her research contributions include publications indexed in Scopus and other recognized journals, along with presentations at national and international conferences. She has guided postgraduate and undergraduate student projects and has secured seed funding from Karunya University for research on structural health monitoring of aircraft wings and vibration-induced delamination characteristics of composite plates.

Mrs. Gayathri actively contributes to Divisional academic and student development activities through her responsibilities as Spiritual Coordinator, Academic Course File Audit Coordinator, and coordinator for Extra-Curricular Activities, Anti-Ragging and Discipline, and the Division Library. She has also completed the BIS Certificate Course on Non-Destructive Testing, further strengthening her expertise in aerospace structural evaluation.
