Dr. Kampa Ashirvadam

Dr. Kampa Ashirvadam serves as Professor and Head of the Division of Aerospace Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, having joined the institution on 12 August 2024. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech in Design and Production of IC Engines and Gas Turbines from NIT Warangal, and a Ph.D. in Aerospace from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. His area of specialization is Combustion Instability, with research interests in Combustion Instability and Aero-Acoustics. He teaches subjects including Theory of Machines, Heat Transfer, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Aero-Dynamics, Boundary Layer Theory, and Acoustics of Ducts and Mufflers.

Dr. Ashirvadam brings over 31 years of research experience and 1½ years of teaching experience to the Division, combining deep domain expertise with academic leadership.

His research contributions include publications indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and other recognized databases, along with presentations at four international and five national conferences. He has guided four Ph.D. scholars, five postgraduate projects, and ten undergraduate projects. He has also attended ten Faculty Development Programmes and serves as a member of the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) and the Combustion Institute.

Dr. Ashirvadam currently serves as Professor and Head of the Division of Aerospace Engineering. He has received the Best Paper Award at an ASME Conference held at IIT Kharagpur in recognition of his research contributions. His academic and professional expertise continues to support teaching, research, and leadership in the field of aerospace engineering.
