Dr. R. Ajith Raj

Dr. R. Ajith Raj is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Aerospace Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, having joined the institution on 19 June 2023. He holds a B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering from Noorul Islam College of Engineering, an M.E. in Aeronautical Engineering from Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, and a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering from Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education.

Dr. Ajith Raj has 10 years of teaching experience, 6 months of industry experience, and 8 years of research experience. His area of specialization includes Aircraft and Aerospace Materials, Propulsion, and Aircraft Maintenance, while his research focuses on Material Science, Composite Materials, Dissimilar Metal Joints, Electron Beam Welding, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and Waste Management. He teaches core aerospace subjects including Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aerodynamics, Advanced Aerodynamics, and Rockets and Missiles.

His research contributions include publications indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and other recognized journals, along with presentations at international conferences. He has guided postgraduate and undergraduate student projects and has filed nine Indian patents and three foreign patents. He is also a member of the Universal Association of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineers and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG).

Dr. Ajith Raj received the Excellence in Research Award from NIMS Medicity in recognition of his research contributions. He also serves as an Innovation Ambassador for Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer under the MHRD Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), supporting innovation, research, and technology commercialization initiatives.
