DISSEMINATION OF KNOWLEDGE


The Department of Chemistry took upon itself the noble task of disseminating knowledge in the recent advancing fields of chemistry. It brought together scientists from industry, researchers from academic circle and students to a common forum entitled, "National seminar on recent developments in green chemistry" (RDGC . 2007) (sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt of India, Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of Tomilnadu and National Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of India) to deliberate upon various environmental pollution issues of chemistry on 25’ August 2007 in the Karunya University Campus. Dr. P Maruthamuthu, ViceChancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University was the chief guest for the seminar. Contributory papers were presented in the following thematic areas viz. Green Chemical processes, Environment friendly clean energy technologies & Biotechnologicol contribution to green chemistry.
