On the Eve of Independence Day our unit decided to organize a program for all the students of class 9th to 12th. The event was named as Transcendence. Then the volunteers were divided into many for different committee.
There were many competitions they are

• English elocution
• Tamil elocution
• English essay writing
• Tamil essay writing
• Painting
• Skit

Almost all the schools in Coimbatore were called for their participation. The motivation of the program was to make awareness to the students about the Indian freedom struggle and the leaders who have been a back bone for the freedom of India. The bus arrangement of were made for the students to make them feel easy.

The registration was started at 8.30 Am. The school’s name list was prepared before and the ID cards and the other required materials were given to the students at the registration desk. More than 21 schools registered for each event. Almost 350 students gathered in total.

The registered students were taken to the auditorium for the inauguration function. The vice chancellor of our University inaugurated the function, while the registrar of our University addressed the gathering. The program started with a prayer, Our NSS program coordinator gave the motivation of the program.

Events started at 10.30 am . Different events were organized at the different places. The drawing was one of the highlights of the function as the participants were so good in drawing as it was beautiful to see students with full passion towards to their creativity.

The events took place at the morning session are English essay writing, tamil essay writing, English elocution, tamil elocution, drawing. The titles for this competition were based on the freedom. The students were given topics on the spot for elocution and essay writing. The events went on till 1.00 pm. Then the students were taken to the lunch

The only that was waiting for the evening was the Skit. The auditorium was coloured with the students in different colours and costumes which made them eager to act and show their talents on the stage. The theme of the skit was freedom struggle. The skit was the important score for all the students as it scores about 8 points and helps to win the overall title.

Thus the program came to an end with the winners. The validitory function started at   4.00 pm. Dr.Paul Appaswamy, Vice chancellor, Karunya University &Anne Mary Fernandez, Registrar, Karunya University gave away the prizes to the winners. The angappa scool scored away the highest points with a overall trophy.
