Honourable Chancellor's Birthday Celebrations

In the view of celebrating our Hon.Chancellor Dr.Paul Dhinakaran’s birthday, our Karunya NSS unit has organized and conducted various activities viz.,

    1. Blood Donation Camp
    2. Oldage Home Visit
    3. Tree Plantation
    4. Vertinary Camp

BLOOD DONATION CAMP:

DSC00907.JPGThe camp was conducted in association with the Government Medical College Hospital at Emmanuel auditorium. The Blood Donation team consisted of 3 doctors and 4 nurses headed by Dr.Sam. The camp started at 10.00 a.m. and ended at 01.00 p.m., where 103 students donated their blood. The Blood groups donated were A+ve, O+ve, B+ve, AB+ve, O-ve, B-ve and AB-ve. The Doctors appreciated our donors for donating blood even on a holiday

DSC02334.JPGOLDAGE HOME VISIT:

A group of 40 NSS volunteers along with 2 programme officers visted St. Joseph’s Oldage home at Podanur. The volunteers interacted with the aged and homeless people residing at the oldage home. Our volunteers entertained them with dances and skits and also conducted games for them. Afternoon lunch was also sponsored by us for all 162 aged people

TREE PLANTATION:

IMG_0186.JPGOur NSS unit also conducted tree plantation at Angel gardens, Karunya nagar. A group of 30 volunteers participated in the activity along with 2 programme officers. 48 saplings were planted by commemorating our Hon.Chancellor’s  48th birthday. The activity started at 10.00 a.m. and ended at 12.30 p.m.

 

VERTINARY CAMP:

A vertinary camp was conducted at vadivellampalayam. The medicines were bought the previous day and the arrangements were done to the doctors to come to the camp site. The doctors readhed the campsite by around 9.00 a.m and the camp started by at 9.30 a.m. Nearly 57 animals were treated and benifited through the camp.
