IT is a Buzz word for any youth. It has increased the tempo in the present century. IT is also called India's Tomorrow as it gives economic boom both to the individual and the Nation. The IT-BPO sector has become one of the most significant growth catalysts for the Indian economy.
        The department of Information Technology is well equipped for training the students with state-of-the-art curriculum that provides an ambient atmosphere for learning and acquiring new skills. With a syllabus streamlined for the dynamic IT industry the department focuses on providing sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to the students for software endeavors.
        The Department imparts training in the area of Computer Networks, Network Security, Software Engineering, Mobile Computing, Database Management Systems, Information Security, Web Designing and IT related fields. The faculty members are conducting research work in these areas as well.
         The UG and PG students are encouraged to take-up projects in the above mentioned fields. The theoretical knowledge of the subjects is enhanced with well equipped laboratories. The course curriculum of the Department is regularly updated from time to time in order to cope up with the upcoming demands of the industry and recent Information Technology developments. B.Tech - IT Programme of Karunya University was established in the year 1999 which offers an eight semester Undergraduate Programme in Information Technology. At present the Department instructs 450 students who are supported by the experienced and seasoned staff.
       The department has established a reputation for its excellent result and placements. The department also has Departmental Library for the departmental students having reference as well as text books. The library also contains different reference project as well as seminar reports.LCD and projector facilities are available for the effective teaching.
