Karunya Rural Community Hospital was started in 1989 with a mission to provide quality healthcare to the all the residents in and around Karunya. Not only does it cater to the medical needs of 4200 students, 300 staff and families resident on Karunya Deemed University campus, but it also strives with a noble vision to reach the backward rural communities who are in desperate need of medical help at a very minimal cost.

The Hospital is well-equipped with modern facilities and includes an operation theatre, which has also been certified and approved by the State Family Welfare Unit to perform Family Planning surgeries for the rural poor, who are scattered in as many as 51 villages surrounding the University. Adequate in-patient facilities and a 24-hr ambulance to carry the patients to Coimbatore for secondary and tertiary care are also available. Special facilities in hospital include: Cardiac Monitor, Pulse Oxymeter, Baby Warmer Portable Ultrasound Scanning, Machine Foetal Doppler.
