The School of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1986. It has grown
steadily with its parent Institution and has turned out eighteen batches of competent Civil Engineers and 9 batches of competent Structural
Engineers. The department has 208 students on roll guided by 21
faculty and headed by Prof. G.Prince Arulraj,
M.Tech., Ph.D.
The School has an outstanding track record and has consistently produced Civil Engineering graduates of exceptional quality and caliber. The school has a proud record of producing maximum University ranks. Our school has been recognized as Research Centre for Ph.D. work. Currently seven candidates have registered for their Ph.D.

and consultancy work. Our aim is to blend theory with practice to equip the students with cutting edge technology in Civil Engineering. Our approach to teaching is pragmatic, combining theoretical problem-solving
capabilities with real life application of engineering principles.

Prime focus is on Design of Multi-storeyed Buildings, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, High Performance Concrete, Optimal Design of Structures, Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System (GIS), Finite Element Analysis, Rehabilitation of Structures, Composite Building Materials, Computer-Aided Analysis, Design and Drafting, Stability of Structures, Aseismic Design of Structures and Advanced Bridge Engineering, GPS, Design of Steel Structures, Water Resources Planning and Management
and Non-Destructive Testing of Structures.
