Objectives
Web Service group is committed to expand and improve student potential. In this view, gaming framework is chosen to explore our research vision given that much is learned quickly and effectively when a human being is immersed in a virtual environment playing a ‘mind game’. Hence the group is interested in developing multi-modal and innovative interfaces to content-rich virtual worlds, such as movement interfaces or biometric monitors that can measure a person’s affect or emotional state. Our overall aim is to facilitate the learning of skills in the virtual world that are useful back in the real world.

The Web Service group is a truly multi-disciplinary team, possessing expertise in a wide range of fields from biomedical signal processing, graphics generation, multimedia, artificial intelligence, and games programming. Interactions
MatLab being a tool of choice for high productivity research, a workshop in association with IEEE Chennai was conducted with prime objective to expertise the group members in MatLab’s versatile toolboxes. The main focus of the web service group for the upcoming years will be to seek financial support from government funding agencies and to collaborate with major industry players for testbeds in converting research results into competitive advantage.
