The Department of Biotechnology is located in second and third floor of Dr. T. Chellathurai Block. The infrastructure details of the department are as follows.

CLASS ROOMS

            The Department has total of nine class rooms, located in II (BTLH201, 202 & 203) and III floor (BTLH301, 302, 310, 311, 312 & 313) with seating capacity for 65 students per class room for B.Tech and M.Tech Biotechnology students. Each class room has been designed to be effectively used as smart class room with good ventilation and light facility. Few class rooms and research labs are facilitated with wifi internet connections.

STAFF ROOM

The workforce team of the Department includes Twenty five teaching faculty and three non-teaching faculty. The Director, School of Biotechnology & Health Sciences is seated in a separate room with an office and attached Mini conference Hall facility at Ground Floor of Dr.T.Chellathurai block. The HOD, Department of Biotechnology is seated in separate room in the II floor of the same block with an office. Professors and Associate professors are seated in three separate rooms and all the remaining faculty members are seated in five staff rooms (four seater room) at second and third floors of the same building with individual table & chairs, storage cupboards & computers with internet connection and intercom facilities.    

OFFICE ROOM

            The Department office room is located in the second floor with all necessary facilities. The department has been provided with enough Laptops, OHP and LCD projectors to be effectively utilized by the teaching faculty for delivering lectures.

CENTRALIZED STORE FOR LABS           

The Department has a centralized store in the first floor with all necessary facility for storing the chemicals, Glass wares and other miscellaneous items. All requirements for the Laboratory sessions for academic and research are issued from this central laboratory as per the requirement raised by lab in charges & scholars.
