RESEARCH
·Dr.Jannet
Vennila, Assistant professor & HOD Bioinformatics, participated and
presented paper on Protien Nanobioechnology: Futuristic challenges in Systems
Biology” at Otto Warburg International Summer School and Workshop 2007 on
Computational Systems Biology at Berlin, organized by the Max Planck
Institute of Molecular Genetics, Germany. She is currently interested in the
development of optical based G-protein coupled receptors as biosensors in
studying the key kinase enzymes in animal cells.
·Dr. K. Panneerselvam, Associate Professor, Department of
Bioinformatics is specialized in X-ray crystallographic studies of small
molecules and proteins. He has around 140 publications in this field and
patented the technique of solving the structure of 4 main proteins in Drug
Industry.
·Dr.Jaya Sundhara Sharmila, Assistant Professor
is interested in Molecular Modeling and Rational Drug Design. She is attempting
to derive the entire structure of a novel inhibitor from In-silico computational
methods and molecular docking. She pursues research in Biological Database
Integration with special focus on Protein and Carbohydrate Database and
published three papers on the proceedings of the IEEE international conferences
on Computing and Simulation
·Sam Mathew, Lecturer is
interested in recombination analysis and mutational studies of proteins. He has
completed a project on recombination analysis for ORF1 in Hepatitis E virus and
its mutational studies in National Institute of Virology, Pune. He has also done
a project on Mycobacterium Tuberculosis for Nithya Genomics, Bangalore. His
current research interest is on creating a database on catalytic residues for
various contagious diseases.
·Premnath.D, Lecturer is
interested in Drug design and protein network studies. He has completed a
project on induction of antitumor cytotoxic T lympcytes by using haparanase
enzyme peptide vaccine studies in Tamil nadu agricultural university .He has
also done a project on pattern of pattern motif finding bioinformatics
tools and databases. His current research interest is on disease marker
identification and integrative mining various “omics” data using a network
modeling strategy.
