Indian Society for Technical Education is a
national, professional, non-profit making Society started in 1941 as the
Association of Principals of Technical Institutions
The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and
contribute quality and standard to technical education for human resource
development needed by the industries and other organizations as given below:
- To formulate the general goals &
responsibilities of technical education.
- To adjust curriculum & educational processes
to changing conditions.
- To develop effective teachers & educational
administrators.
- To improve instructional methods & practices
& administrative usages.
- To enhance professional ideals & standards.
- To foster research as a function
complementary to teaching.
- To cultivate fraternal spirit amongst the
teachers, administrators, industrialists & professionals.
- To bring about effective linkage between
technical institutions industry & society.
- To award Honorary fellowships, Awards and
Prizes, for furthering the objectives of Technical Education.
ISTE is associated with Ministry of Human
Resource Development (MHRD) / AICTE, Ministry of Information Technology (MIT) /
DST and State Governments for various programmes relating to technical
education.
KITS was duly admitted by the Executive Council
as Institutional Member of ISTE and is fully entitled to all the privileges
granted by the constitution and bye-laws since 1989.
Large number of faculty of KITS are ISTE members
serving as a strong foundation for this ISTE Chapter. Various awards, grants and
fellowships are announced by ISTE and members may be benefited by visiting ISTE
