September 2005 to tap the unexplored potential of this sunrise
industry in India. The department aims to provide value based
education with core competence to the students. Graduates of the
undergraduate program are expected to possess knowledge of the
fundamentals of Food process engineering. This is the first
University in India to give such an importance to Food
Processing area on all its aspects namely, Food Safety Assurance
Testing Laboratory with sophisticated analytical facilities, R&D
Laboratory, Food Processing Training Centre and Food Processing

Mechanical Sciences has been one of the core branches,
which was started right at the inception of the Karunya University
in 1986. The School of Mechanical Sciences has grown from strength
to strength and as on date, it has matured into a pillar of strength
for the Karunya University.In order to meet the manpower of the rapidly growing
Industrial base and infrastructure of our country, the Karunya University is at
present offering three PG courses in the thrust areas of Thermal Science, CAD/CAM & Engineering Design, Aeronautical, Automobile, etc.
The courses have been designed in such a way that students get the necessary
depth in the chosen area of specialization while absorbing the necessary back
up knowledge so as to maintain the required breadth in the general Technological
Scenario. Special efforts have been made to enable the students to translate the
theoretical knowledge with laboratory & field level experience.
